This adds the glow effect around the aura similar to when you have a spell proc that lights up an ability on your keyboard such as when your Pistol Shot is free. This will take all the color out of the image making it grey-scale. With icons, you can check the automatic icon box to let the Aura decide which icon to show based on the trigger or pick your own. This is the actual image you'll be seeing. Click the box to mess around with the color option You can tint the icon or texture a certain color if you want, usually more useful with textures since they aren't as detailed. If this is checked an 'Inverse' option will appear letting you select the direction of the cooldown graphic. This setting will have the familiar cooldown wheel normally seen on the action bar but on the aura. Available for all icons but not textures. Icons have a bit more information so we'll be using them as a base, textures only vary slightly and are named similarly. A lot of these can also be expressed by their dynamic counterparts if you want more information from them, such as a bar showing how much time is left on the trinket buff.
Either your Shadow-Singed Fang has proc'd and you have one of its buffs, or it hasn't. For example, either your Recklessness cooldown is ready, or it's not. These kinds of auras are made for events that are either happening or not. Text Auras can also be made but they usually have updating information, and so don't always fit here. You can learn more about each display type in the Auras sections, and more about the Triggers further down in the Triggers section, but you should already have a general idea of what it is you want to keep an eye on.Īuras that do not change while they are showing are usually textures or icons. The first thing to do when you decide to make a new Aura is to figure out what display type (Icons/Bars/etc.) you want and what you want it to track for you, the thing you want to track is referred to as a trigger. At the top of the left panel, there's a 'New' button, which will show you all the kinds of Auras you can make. If you don't have any Auras already, you'll need to make a new one. Anywhere you see the weird dragon eye you can turn the visibility on or off temporarily while the options are opened. This is split into two sections, the left is Auras you already have, and the right is the setting for those auras. This pulls up everything you need for WeakAuras. To open WeakAuras simply type '/wa' into your chat bar and hit enter. For example, you can have a bar that fills up as you gain more insanity on your shadow priest or empties itself as your flame shock runs down.īefore we talk about what goes into an Aura lets see what we're looking at.
Aurora or elvui wow update#
You can make static, unchanging images or text or you can make ones that change and update based on something's value. This is similar to player buffs and debuffs which are also known as Auras. Everything that WeakAuras can put on your screen is called an Aura. There are two categories of things that you can make in WeakAuras, with many options for each. Anything that's easy to use with drop downs or boxes to fill in will be explained and there will be a few examples along the way. There will not be any custom coding of WeakAuras and we're going to leave out the more complicated options alone for now, along with a couple of the most recently added features (stop motion/slants). What does this guide cover? This is a basic guide that covers the introductory pieces of WeakAuras. WeakAuras can't get information for you that you don't already have access too, but as we'll see there isn't much you don't have a way of getting. You might be able to make it say something in a whisper or a yell but WeakAuras cannot be used to make macros or automate any gameplay for you (which is against the rules anyway). There is so much you can do with this that it's easier to tell you what WeakAuras can't do. WeakAuras is for changing the way that information is displayed to make it easier to see. This could be anything from how many stacks of Juggernaut you have to how much time is left on your interrupt, to an alert when you are low on mana. What can WeakAuras do?
